Yup, that works! Delete a file you don't want, and then empty recycle bin.. It asked if I want to delete 2 files, ever though there was only 1 file in it that I just sent to recycle bin.. So, I opened it and deleted that 1 file and the icon etc. went back to normal.

Thanks R!

Hope that fixes everyone's problem. Windows.......!

Had the same problem....easy fix. Just delete a file that you do not need to the recycle bin then empty it. It will ask you if you want to delete these 23 items. Click yes and and you should be back to normal. Took me a while to figure that out.

I had the same problem. I had an external USB drive attached and running. I safe removed and closed the drive. I then deleted a useless file. Then emptied recycle bin. That's all. Problem gone.

I had the same problem. it cost because of Outlook. when this program are open together with an Adobe program makes many problem. when you close outlook you will notice that there is noting to be empty the recycle. but the icon shows is full. simply restart your PC and problem will solve

Thank you R your solution worked for me :) # R Says:

just close all your programs and any other windows open. Then create a blank file in notepad for example, and then delete it. Now go and empty the recycle bin and it should only delete that file, and then be normal again.
